1999—2000

Won 1st place out of 10 colleges and universities in Bacchus Canada’s Safe Break Week competition.

2006

Launched a “Spirit Squad” to offer support to the Loyalist Lancers Varsity Teams.

2012—2013

Launched a new online event calendar and “What’s Happening” E-newsletter and purchased a new electronic piano for the Loyalist Community Choir.

2016

Purchased new equipment for the popular Gaming Club.

2017

Supported the Magic Wheelchair Club in designing and fabricating a custom Halloween costume for a local child in a wheelchair.

2017

Supported students through a lengthy Faculty Strike.

Provided daily programming, organizing a bus trip to a Student Rally in Toronto and arranging for the Belleville Transit fall semester passes to be extended to coincide with the new academic schedule.

2018

Presented Hip Hop Artists Northern Knowledge and Jah’kota.

Part of the Indigenize tour to help educate students about Indigenous culture and reconciliation.

2018

Organized Loyalist College’s first Pride Week.

Student President, Scott Rook was inspired to bring Pride Week to Loyalist College after attending Belleville Pride. The week began with an Opening Ceremony and then the Pride Flag raising.

2018

Launched a new Loyalist College tradition—Fun Fridays.

Fun Fridays encourages staff and students to show their school pride every Friday. Student Government awarded monthly prizes to students who posted a photo on social media.

2019

Collaborated with Loyalist College to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the murders of 14 young women with a White Ribbon Ceremony.

Student Government encouraged Loyalist Students and Staff to take the pledge to never commit, condone or remain silent about violence against women and girls.

2020

Organized the very successful Flag Raising Ceremony.

Recognized Republic Day in India for which Loyalist College was the only educational institution in Ontario to do so.

2020

Partnered with the Loyalist Pride on Campus group and Residence Life to host a Transgender Day of Remembrance Vigil.

The Vigil honoured the memory of transgender people who lost their lives in acts of violence.

2020

Organized the very successful 20K Sock Class Challenge.

This resulted in 6,238 pairs of socks being donated to local and regional shelters and organizations. Student Government, thanks to an idea from Loyalist College President and CEO, Ann Marie Vaughan, challenged other Ontario Colleges to participate which contributed to the campaign’s overall final count of 67,215 pairs of socks.

2021

Launched a Loyalist Scavenger Hunt for students.

Helps students get to know Loyalist College and the Quinte region. The online game was developed by Indigenous Leader, Lorraine Farrar, and Justice Studies Leader, Sasha Stewart, through the GooseChase app.

2022

Partnered with the Loyalist Pride on Campus group to host activities to mark Transgender Day of Visibility.
